At Kwarfokurom, close to Nsawam in the Eastern Region, a robbery group murdered a 24-year-old Okada rider and fled with his motorcycle.
The 24-year-old dead has been named as Kwame Mensah, and after graduating from high school, he had been working in the Nsawam neighborhood to support himself and his family.
According to reports, the group contracted his services to get to Kwarfokurom near Nsawam, where they shot him halfway there and stole his motorcycle.
When speaking to the media about the tragic occurrence, the mother of the deceased cried and demanded justice for the family.
In order to lessen attacks on Okada riders and other locals, the former Member of Parliament for Ayensuano, Samuel Ayepaye, pleaded with the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to increase police patrols in the Ayensuano District and other nearby municipalities.
